SECI or Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. is a company of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, established to facilitate the implementation of the National Solar Mission. It is the only Central Public Sector Undertaking dedicated to the solar energy sector.
This overall concept of SECI has been quite successful with significant number of positive responses from the developers. It will help the renewable ministry to initiate more hybrid projects henceforth. Participation for this tender has been enthusiastic despite challenges as the bidders had to match the lowest tariff.
The government of India has a target of installing 100 GW of solar power by 2022 under the National Solar Mission.
2. Growth of Agri-tech Sector in India
The growth of investments in the Indian agri-tech sector in the last 5 years has been significant and the performance is expected to be accelerated further as the companies serving in this agri-tech market have shown exceptional performance amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the agri-experts, the current situation of the pandemic has helped the Indian agriculture sector to shift from traditional and informal phase to formal and digitized one. Farm-to-consumer brands or farmers-to -consumers direct marketing witnessed growth of 110% during the Covid-19 induced lockdowns in India.
Moreover, it will accelerate the emergence of farmer e-marketplaces, satellite farming, sustainable food supply chain and more such things with the involvement of more start-ups and venture capital in the coming days.
